Wednesday, 14 May 2025 - After being a complaint from residents for several months, damaged roads at a number of points in Pinang Subdistrict, Tangerang City, have finally received attention from the government. The repair process is now underway and has been positively welcomed by the local community. Road damage that occurred at several points in Pinang Subdistrict, especially along Jalan Raya Pinang Kunciran, had become a public concern. Potholes and waterlogged roads during rainfall have caused many motorists to fall and disrupted residents' activities.
“I often see motorcyclists falling, especially at night when the street lighting is not optimal. The road is slippery and there are many potholes,” said a resident of RT 04 RW 02, who passes by on a motorcycle every day.
Local residents even took the initiative to patch the potholes using stones and soil, but the effort did not last long. They then reported the condition through the city government's complaint channel.
Responding to the report, the Tangerang City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) dispatched officers to conduct a survey and began repairs last week. The repairs were carried out using an asphalt patchwork system to cover the large holes in the road.
This repair was welcomed positively by residents who hope that the road will be maintained regularly so that it will not be damaged again in the near future. The Pinang Sub-district Government also urged the community to take part in maintaining public facilities and immediately report any other damage that poses a danger.
“We appreciate the government's quick response. The road is more comfortable and safer. Hopefully, it can be continued with comprehensive repairs, not just patches,” said one resident.
The government's quick step in responding to public complaints about road damage in Pinang is expected to be the beginning of other infrastructure improvements for mutual comfort and safety.
